Fiorentina, Udinese looking at Zukanovic

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Fiorentina and Udinese are keeping close tabs on Gent defender Ervin Zukanovic.

The Bosnian footballer was loaned to Chievo in the summer and the centre-back has since largely impressed despite the fact he was mostly used as a left-back.

Zukanovic went on to start 25 Serie A games, scoring two goals and setting up as many, and everything suggests he won’t be staying with the Flying Donkeys for much longer.

Chievo have the option to purchase his contract at the end of the season, but the likes of Fiorentina and Udinese hope to beat their league rivals to the player’s signature.

Zukanovic needed quite a while to make it to a top European league, having spent the majority of his professional career in Belgium, but his performances this season are enough to suggest he is more than capable of playing at the highest level.
