Fiorentina chief Andrea Della Valle has urged midfielder Ricardo Montolivo to decide whether he wants to stay at Fiorentina.
The Italy international, whose contract with Fiorentina is due to expire in June 2012, has yet to sign a contract extension with the club.
Viola have reportedly offered Montolivo a contract until 2016 worth €2 million per season, but the player has stalled over signing the new deal.
“His case is a peculiar one,” Fiorentina owner Andrea Della Valle said.
“Although his contract won’t expire this year, the time has arrived for him to tell us what he wants to do.
“We have done what we needed to, we can’t do any more.”
It is believed that Inter and Juventus have set their sights on the 26-year-old, which is the main reason behind Montolivo’s reluctance to sign a new deal at Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina chiefs are determined to avoid losing the player for free next summer and will, therefore, be looking to sell if Montolivo rejects a new deal.
