Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastian Frey has turned down a move to German giants Bayern Munich and instead committed his future to the Viola according to Sky Sports.
Frey, 28, had attracted the interest of many top European clubs after impressive displays helped Fiorentina pip AC Milan to the final UEFA Champions League spot by 2 points.
The former Parma keeper told Sky Sports: “I am staying in Florence, We have had to work hard to earn our place in the Champions League preliminary round and now I want to continue this adventure. It will be a great challenge.”
“There was some contact with Bayern but I still have three years left on my contract and Fiorentina put a fairly high price-tag on me.”
“I am happy in Florence, I’m very motivated and I’m happy to play at a club that is working towards next season with great ambition.”
Frey is currently with the French squad for their Euro 2008 campaign and will act as back-up to French number one Gregory Coupet
