Roberto Firmino is set to be offered a new contract with Liverpool, according to the Daily Star.
The Brazilian arrived at Anfield as a versatile forward two years ago but is now regularly deployed as a front line striker with his appearance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United his one hundredth for the club in all competitions.
The Reds are desperate to tie the the twenty-six year old down amid fears that they could lose Emre Can to Juventus as he nears the end of his contract.
There is also a new deal on the table for fellow forward Ben Woodburn, who is on the fringes of the Liverpool first team.
The Wales international has made ten appearances in all competitions under Jurgen Klopp but has gained rave reviews for his performances for his country – not least by scoring the winner in a World Cup qualifier against Austria last month.
