(GSM) – West Ham United defender Herita Ilunga is positive ahead of the new season after returning from a long-term injury.
Ilunga admits it was hard to watch his teammates from the sidelines as they successfully battled for Premier League survival last season.
Ilunga has returned to training after suffering from a back problem and is already looking forward to playing under new boss Avram Grant.
“It was very difficult to watch last season,” he told the club’s official website.
“The first time I experienced that in my career and to have four months away from the pitch was very hard to take, but that is football. The most important thing for me is that I am back to help the team.
“I am positive about the new season. The manager has come in with a good mentality and everybody wants to work well. I think it will be a great season for the club.
