Most of this morning’s newspapers include the story of a press conference held yesterday by Newcastle interim manager Joe Kinnear.
It was the first one held by Kinnear since taking over at Newcastle, and five minutes into it, he promised it would be his last. It would appear that the four days in charge of England’s most talked about club have already take their toll.
The most noteworthy thing about the conference was that Kinnear managed to say fifty-two swear words inside five minutes. Impressive going, I’m sure you’ll agree!
He was angry at press coverage of his appointment and came to the strange decision that swearing, ranting and abusing gathered members of the press was the best way to get better publicity.
If someone tried to write a fictional story and included the goings on at St James’ Park over the past few months, people would refuse to accept it because it would be far too ridiculous to be believed.
There is certainly never a dull moment in Newcastle.
