Already landing their fifth Serie A title, a high-flying Flamengo will look to keep up the party atmosphere when a relegated Avai travel to Rio de Janeiro on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another dominant display and landing a 3-1 win away at Palmeiras last week, Flamengo have continued to take Brazil by storm this season. Securing their fifth domestic crown with plenty of time to spare, Head Coach Jorge Jesus finds his side enjoying a four-match winning run and not tasting defeat since way back on the 4th of August. With a party atmosphere in Rio de Janeiro and looking to sign off their record-breaking campaign in some style, there is no doubt that Flamengo should be confident of making yet another statement on Thursday night.

As for the visitors, while Thursday’s hosts might be enjoying a purple patch at the top of the table, Avai have long since confirmed their spot in Serie B for next season. Still sat firmly at the foot of the table entering December, the Brazilian strugglers have failed to record a single victory across any format since the end of September. Continuing to show some glaring issues in the final third, Avai have found the net just once in any of their last five appearances. With Flamengo picking up a 3-0 win when the two sides met back in September, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.
