Flamengo have announced that they have completed the signing of Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero from Corinthians.
The 31-year-old joins the Brazilian giants on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal, with Corinthians having been unable to offer him a new contract due to financial constraints.
Flamengo are going through a difficult patch at the moment, having taken just one point from first three league matches and after sacking coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, the arrival of Guerrero will be a huge boost for everyone at the club.
The Peruvian forward has enjoyed a great deal of success since joining Corinthians from Hamburg, helping the club lift FIFA Club World Cup title, while also scoring 52 goals in 124 competitive outings.
Paolo Guerrero has so far bagged 12 goals in 39 Peru caps and he is expected to play a key role for the national team at the upcoming Copa America tournament in Chile.
