(GSM) – Mathieu Flamini has vowed to stay at Milan despite the interest of English clubs.
The former Arsenal midfielder was linked with a move to Manchester City in January and interest is expected to increase when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.
However, Flamini insists he’s not going anywhere despite the fact that he has been a bit-part player for most of the season.
“I’m following the interest of the big English clubs in me. But my priority is Milan,” Flamini said in L’Equipe.
“I’m at a legendary club, one of the greatest in the world. I feel very good there, I’m counting on imposing myself, at this moment I’m in full possession of my abilities.”
Flamini signed a four-year deal with Milan in 2008. Reports suggest the Serie A giants are considering offering the France international a two-year extension, something vice-president Adriano Galliani has hinted at.
“We are counting on him,” he said. “Mathieu has already had playing time, he’s playing, we’re pleased with him.”
