Flanagan set for new Liverpool deal

Liverpool are in talks with Jon Flanagan over a new deal according to Talksport.

The defender, known by Reds’ fans as ‘the Scouse Cafu’ is out of contract in the summer and the club are keen to retain his services.

A product of the Liverpool Academy, Flanagan is closing in on fifty senior appearances for the club while his one and only goal so far came in a 5-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur in December 2013.

He is a full England international having made his debut as a substitute in a friendly against Ecuador in June 2014 though he is yet to win a second cap.

Liverpool booked their place in the quarter finals of the Europa League after beating Manchester United 3-1 on aggregate in the round of sixteen and they will face manager Jurgen Klopp’s former side Borussia Dortmund in the quarter finals.
