Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has admitted that he would like to play in the World Cup in South Africa with Scotland in 2010.
If Scotland manages to get to the World Cup it will be their first finals since 1998.
Fletcher told the Daily Record: “It’s massive. Every player wants to play at a World Cup and represent their country at the very highest level.
“I’m no different. I haven’t yet qualified for a big tournament with Scotland and I’m desperate to do it.
“I play at a high level with Manchester United in the finals and semi-finals of the Champions League and such like. But you want to do well in your international career too.
“I’d love to play in a World Cup and I’ll be doing my utmost to get to one. Some great players don’t get the chance. I want to make sure I do get that opportunity.”
