Italian midfielder Alessandro Florenzi will be signing a new deal at Stadio Olimpico, according to Tuttosport.
The winger’s current contract is due to expire in June 2016, and with top European clubs showing interest in his services, the Giallorossi are desperate to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
Tuttosport has learned that Roma officials are set to open negotiations with the player’s representatives and they aim to offer Florenzi a contract until June 2010 worth €1.5 million per campaign prior to various performance related bonuses.
And seeing as how the 23-year-old has no plans to leave his boyhood club, it is only a matter of time before an agreement is reached.
Florenzi is widely regarded as the hottest prospect to come out of Roma’s youth academy since Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi, and he has managed 11 goals in 80 Serie A appearances.
The Giallorossi host Chievo on Saturday hoping to make amends for the controversial defeat to Juventus, with home win paying 3/10.
