While rumours of AS Roma’s eagerness to sign Chris Smalling from Manchester United on a permanent deal are taking the most traction in the media, there are another important news regarding the club from Italy’s capital city – Alessandro Florenzi has decided to leave Roma in January 2020 in search of regular first-team football.
Calciomercato are reporting that Italy boss Roberto Mancini has told the 28-year-old defender that he needs to be playing regularly in order to have a chance of making his final 23-man squad for next summer’s European Championships which will be held in 12 countries.
Florenzi has not been playing regularly at Roma for some time now and this season he only started seven matches. He is playing less and less in the last month or so and now there are clubs that could profit from that. Inter and Fiorentina are both believed to be considering a move for the defender when the transfer window opens.
