Fluminense will attempt to clinch the signing of Fred after verbally agreeing a transfer with the Lyon striker.
Tottenham, Stoke and Atletico Madrid were among the clubs believed to have been interested in the 25-year-old but it appears he is closing in on a return to his homeland.
Fred, who has lost his regular starting spot at Les Gones, is keen to leave the Stade Gerland to kickstart his international prospects ahead of next year’s World Cup finals in South Africa.
