(GSM) – Brazilian leaders Fluminense had their top spot come under threat this weekend as result of a 2-1 defeat at Atletico Goianiense.

Things went according to play for ‘Flu’ when Washington put his team in the lead after 22 minutes at Goianiense, but the hosts restored the balance through Willian seven minutes later.

Goianiense had Gilson sent off with a second yellow card in the 73rd minute, but Fluminense failed to take advantage of being a man up.

Instead, Juninho netted a winning goal in the first minute of added time to give the relegation candidates a much-needed victory.

Second-placed Corinthians failed to take advantage of the situation however, losing 0-1 to Gremio with Douglas scoring the only goal after 33 minutes.

Corinthians do have a game in hand and are three points behind Fluminense.
