Fluminense midfielder Wellington Nem has confirmed that he would like to join a major European club in the future.
The 20-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances this season and he was subsequently linked with a move to Arsenal.
The highly rated youngster says he is aware of the interest in his services and admits he is tempted by a prospect of playing for a high-profile club from Europe.
“I’ve read about the interest of the Gunners, and I do often think of playing in Europe.” Wellington Nem told Lancenet.
“I will continue to work hard in order to make that dream a reality.”
When quizzed by the Brazilian newspaper where he would like to continue his career, Nem replied:
“Wearing the shirt of Barcelona, AC Milan or Juventus. But for now. I am simply thinking about Fluminense.”
The promising midfielder came through the youth ranks at Fluminense, but it was a loan spell at Figueirense that helped him realize his full potential.
The player returned to his parent club in January and has been in fine form this season, scoring 3 goals in 13 league appearances.
Wellington Nem has a contract until December 2014 at Fluminense, but he could leave Brazil as early as next summer.
