Foden set for new deal

Manchester City are keen to tied Phil Foden down to a long-term deal, according to the Mail Online.

The highly-rated teenager scored his first goal for the Premier League champions in Tuesday evening’s Carabao Cup third round victory over Oxford United and he wants to commit his future to the team he supported growing up.

Foden turned eighteen in the summer, though City have opted to wait before opening contract negotiations.

He broke into Pep Guardiola’s first team last season, racking up ten appearances in all competitions and became the youngest player to receive a Premier League winners medal back in May while he was an unused substitute as his side beat Arsenal 3-0 in the EFL Cup final.

Internationally, he has been capped at every level from U16s to U19s and was part of the squad that won the U17s World Cup last year, scoring three goals at the tournament.
