Forest eyeing Akpom move

The Daily Star understand that Nottingham Forest are one of a number of clubs keen on securing a loan deal for Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom ahead of Thursday’s emergency loan deal deadline.

The nineteen year old has only racked up around thirty minutes of first team action for the Gunners so far this season across four brief substitute appearances.

He spent much of last season out on loan in League One, first with Brentford and the Coventry City and now looks set for spell in the second tier, with Forest boss Dougie Freedman keen to secure his services.

Norwich City, who beat Forest to move to within three points of league leaders Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, have also been linked with the England U20 international.

Forest meanwhile fell ten points off a play-off place following the weekend’s result, and are now priced at 66/1 to win promotion to the Premier League.
