Nottingham Forest have had a £1m bid for their former defender Wes Morgan turned down by Leicester City, Sky Sports understands.
The 29 year old made the short journey to the King Power Stadium eighteen months ago, and was recently named both Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year at the clubs end of season awards.
He was also given the club captaincy ahead of a campaign which ended with a Championship play-off semi-final defeat to Watford.
Nottingham-born Morgan made over 400 appearances for Forest having graduated from the clubs academy, and made his debut for the Reds against Port Vale almost ten years ago.
Billy Davies, who worked with the centre-back for two-and-a-half years during the Scot’s first spell at the City Ground, is keen to re-sign the defender, with Forest having resolved the financial issues which led to his sale.
However, Leicester have no intention whatsoever of entering negotiations with their East Midland’s rivals regarding any potential sale of the player.
