Competition: League Two
Market: Forest Green win
Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport
Hoping to extend their buffer at the top of the League Two table in midweek, Forest Green will welcome Barrow to the New Lawn on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, putting in another dominant display over the weekend, Forest Green have continued to impress many across League Two this season. Storming their way to the top of the table and with many tipping them as the standout pick to secure a maiden third-tier campaign, Rob Edwards’ side were last seen on Saturday claiming a deserved 3-1 win away at Hartlepool. Smelling a golden chance to extend on their recent purple patch in midweek, the Gloucestershire-based outfit are unbeaten in each of their last five League Two contests. With that run highlighted by a 3-1 win against Salford earlier in the month, Forest Green have also lost just one of their last 11 straight fourth-tier matchups, a run that stems all the way back to August 28th. Gaining a reputation for their displays in the final third and already racking up 30 goals since opening the 2021/22 campaign, Edwards’ men will be looking to lay down another marker.
As for the visitors, although Barrow might have just about managed to extend on their Football League status last season, it appears that Mark Cooper’s men will be at the heart of another relegation battle this year. Putting on a flat display as they were hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Crawley in what was billed as a must-win showdown, the Cumbria-based outfit are really looking over their shoulder. In fact, the Blues have failed to win any of their last seven League Two contests on the bounce, a run that stems all the way back to October 2nd. Knowing that they face a stern test on their travels when they make the trip to the league leaders on Tuesday night, we’re backing a home victory here at the New Lawn.
