Championship rivals Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are battling to secure the services of West Ham United’s Jack Collison for the remainder of the season, according to TalkSport.
The Wales international has struggled to hold down a first team place under Sam Allardyce this season, starting just six Premier League games, and was sent to Bournemouth on loan in the autumn, where he made four appearances.
Leeds manager Brian McDermott has said that he is keen to bring in one more player for the end of season run-in, while Forest have several of their first team players side-lined, not least in midfield where they are currently without Andy Reid, Henri Lansbury, Guy Moussi, Chris Cohen and David Vaughan.
Leeds’ draw with Queens Park Rangers at the weekend saw them move to within eight points of the top-six, while Forest remained in fifth place despite being thumped 4-1 by Wigan Athletic.
