Forest reject Burnley bid for Worrall

Nottingham Forest have rejected a bid from Burnley for highly-rated defender Joe Worrall.

The Clarets tabled an offer of around £6m plus add-ons for the England U20 defender who was part of the squad that were victorious at the Toulon Tournament last summer.

Crystal Palace are also interested in securing the services of the twenty-one year old though he has made it clear that he is happy with life at Forest, and believes he can achieve his top flight dream with them.

The former European Champions currently sit fourteenth in the second-tier and haven’t been in the top flight this century.

Worrall made his fiftieth appearance for the Reds as they beat league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month while he is set to play as they take on Preston North End on Tuesday evening.

Aitor Karanka’s men can be backed at a price of 17/10 to take all three points.
