Forest sign Palace’s Williams on loan

Nottingham Forest have completed the loan signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams, according to Sky Sports.

The twenty-one year old was handed his Palace debut by Forest boss Dougie Freedman in August 2011 and has since racked up sixty-eight appearances for the Eagles in all competitions scoring his one and only goal for the club so far in a 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic in the second round of League Cup four years ago.

He has had three loan spells with Ipswich Town over the past eighteen months, playing for them twenty times in total, scoring twice while internationally he has been capped seven times for Wales at senior level.

Williams becomes the player to arrive at the City Ground on loan in the last few weeks following Kyle Ebecillo from FC Twente, Ryan Mendes from Lille, Nelson Oliveira of Benfica and Brighton and Hove Albion striker Chris O’Grady.
