Diego Forlan has admitted Atletico Madrid rejected an offer from Real Madrid for his services.
Real Madrid made an offer for Diego Forlan but the bid was rejected by Atletico Madrid officials.
“Real Madrid called Gil Marin, he told me, and Miguel Angel Gil rejected that offer,” Forlan told AS.
“My agent told me what happened, he refused the offer and there was nothing else to it.”
The Uruguayan says he would like to honour his contract at Atletico Madrid.
“I would love to stay and I have always said that. Obviously, we have to take into account that this is football, with all its twists and turns, but my idea was always to fulfill my contract.”
