Diego Forlan has urged his international teammate Luis Suarez to make a controversial switch from Liverpool to Manchester United, according to the Metro.
The Cerezo Osaka forward, who himself spent three years at Old Trafford earlier before moving to La Liga in 2004, has revealed that he is in regular contact with the Premier League top scorer.
While Forlan may believe the move to be a good idea, it would be unlikely to be well received by fans of either side, after Suarez’s racial abuse incident with Patrice Evra.
The 27 year old is two goals short of Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 31 goals in a thirty-eight game Premier League season, with five matches left to play.
The former Ajax man can be backed at a price of 15/4 to open the scoring in Sunday’s clash with title favourites Manchester City at Anfield, in a game which could well decide the championship.
