Competition: Championship
Market: Nigel Pearson to be new QPR manager
Odds: 5/4 @ Ladbrokes
Queens Park Rangers are eyeing up a new manager after parting company with Chris Ramsey, and ex-Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is in the frame to take over. The 52-year-old has been out of work this season after being sacked by the Foxes despite keeping them in the Premier League in 2014/15, and reports are suggesting the Hoops want him in charge to push for promotion.
Currently 13th in the Championship after 16 games, Queens Park Rangers have been struggling to pick up wins in the division, but have a good enough squad to turn things around under the right head coach. Given Pearson delivered promotion in his second stint with Leicester City, and stabilised the club in the Premier League, he’s a top candidate for the job at Loftus Road.
Interim manager Neil Warnock, and former Aston Villa bosses Alex McLeish and Tim Sherwood have all been linked to the vacancy, but Ladbrokes are giving odds of 5/4 for Nigel Pearson to be appointed as Chris Ramsey’s replacement. He will be tasked with leading the Londoners to promotion, and a run of wins in the league could see QPR in the playoffs.
