Former Man City striker Jo returns to Corinthians

In a bid to revive his career in football, former Manchester City and Everton striker Jo has signed a deal with Brazilian giants Corinthians on a free transfer having been released from his contract with the Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning in July.

French media outlet L’Equipe revealed that the 29-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract with the club he began his professional career with back in 2003.

He initially spent three years with the Timao making 81 appearances and scoring 17 goals before he moved to CSKA Moscow in 2005.

Jo also played for Galatasaray, Internacional, Atletico Mineiro and Al Shabab before signing for Jiangsu Suning earlier in 2016, but his alcohol problems and personal struggles have prevented himself from succeeding in the newly emerging football market.

Brazil international striker revealed he has given up alcohol and has distanced himself from some old friends including Ronaldinho to focus on family and football in order to get his career back on track.
