Competition: Championship
Market: Carlos Queiroz to be next Leeds manager
Odds: 5/2 @ William Hill
Manager Carlos Queiroz is being lined up to be the next manager of Leeds United, with reports that club owner Massimo Cellino is eyeing him up to replace the sacked Dave Hockaday.
Queiroz spent a total of six years as No.2 to former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, while enjoying spells at Real Madrid, Portugal, and most recently Iran – whom he led to the World Cup this summer.
Leeds have had a poor start to the season that culminated in a managerial casualty. Former head coach Dave Hockaday lost his job after just six games, and a lot of names have been linked to be his successor.
Caretaker manager Neil Redfearn, former Watford head coach Beppe Sannino, ex-West Brom manager Steve Clarke and past Leeds United manager Simon Grayson have been reportedly on Cellino’s shortlist.
William Hill are giving odds of 5/2 for Queiroz to be the next manager of Leeds due to his impressive experience in a variety of roles in his career. He also recently stated he wanted to get back into club management.
