Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster could make his Champions League debut for the title-holders in Wednesday's group clash away to Scottish giants Celtic.
Sir Alex Ferguson, who has rested first-choice keeper Edwin van der Sar for the trip to Glasgow, is now set to choose between Foster and Tomasz Kuszczak.
Were he to play, this would only be Foster's second senior appearance for United even though he has been with the club for more than three years.
However, the Englishman spent his first two seasons on loan to Watford, now in the second-tier Championship and last term, when he was tipped to challenge van der Sar, he was ruled out with a knee injury.
The only time Foster has played at Old Trafford was when he won his first, and so far only, England cap against Spain in February last year.
United defender Wes Brown is likely to miss the Celtic match.
Brown has been sidelined from the reigning European and English champions' last two games because of an ankle injury and his failure to train on TUesday suggests he has yet to regain full fitness.
In his absence, the experienced Gary Neville and Rafael de Silva are set to compete for the right-back position in a squad also lacking the injured midfield duo of Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves.
