(GSM) – Birmingham City are set to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster. Foster is currently in talks with Birmingham after the Blues agreed a deal with United for the English keeper.

Joe Hart is returning to Manchester City after Birmingham manager Alex McLeish failed to keep him at St. Andrews following a successful time at Birmingham for the ‘keeper. As a result, the club needs to sign a new number one to do the job between the sticks.

And with Foster out of favor at United, the two clubs have now agreed a fee in the region of £5million.

His agent Lee Payne has confirmed his client is in talks with Birmingham.

“We are close to agreeing a deal,” he told skysports.com.

“The two clubs have agreed a fee and given us permission to talk to Birmingham.

“We fully expect the deal to be completed either this weekend or the start of next week.”
