Zinedine Zidane controversially left his post as head coach of Real Madrid this summer, having just delivered the third consecutive Champions League triumph to Los Blancos under his reign.
Meanwhile, there have been many speculations lately about Jose Mourinho and his stint at Manchester United possibly coming to an end, and Zidane has been heavily mooted as a likely replacement for the Portuguese. His relationship with the players and his superiors is, to put it mildly, strained by all accounts, and it is believed another disappointing result would lead to him being shown the door.
And according to the Mirror, Zidane has already started contemplating new signings to be made at Old Trafford which would, in his view, be crucial to the team’s progress. Apparently, the players in question are Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos, Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, James Rodriguez who is on loan at Bayern from Real, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.
The Mirror report says Zidane is keen on the job and the board at the club are aware that his credentials make the Frenchman a likely target for any big club looking to hire.
