Fred will not join Spurs

Lyon striker Fred’s brother and agent insist the Brazilian forward will not be joining Tottenham Hotspur.

The news comes after Spurs boss Harry Redknapp claimed Fred failed to turn up for a meeting with the Premier League side.

Fred’s representative, Rodrigo, said in the Daily Mirror: “What Redknapp said is a lie, Fred never said he would come to a meeting.

“Redknapp said he would come to see us in France on Sunday but he did not come.

“Then everything changed, they suddenly wanted us to come to Tottenham but they let us down so he will not be joining them. It’s as simple as that.”

The 25-year-old is keen to leave Lyon in the January transfer window.
