Seattle Sounders striker Fredy Montero has caught the eye of La Liga sides Valencia and Malaga, according to A Bola.
The Colombian joined Sporting Lisbon on loan from the MLS club this summer and has had an amazing start to his career in Portugal.
Montero scored no less than 9 goals in first 7 league fixtures, so no wonder top European clubs have been casting admiring glances his way.
A Bola reports that Valencia and Malaga had the player watched in weekend’s match against Vitoria Setubal, when the 26-year-old scored two goals to continue his excellent run.
Sporting Lisbon chiefs will do everything in their power to turn the striker’s loan into permanent deal as quickly as possible, but they could face stiff competition from other interested parties.
Fredy Montero currently has just three Colombia caps to his name, but chances are his latest performances will give him a good chance of representing los Cafeteros at the 2014 World Cup.
