The 30-year-old Colombia forward Fredy Montero is said to be pushing for a return to Portuguese heavyweights Sporting CP.
Montero left Sporting CP in February 2016 when he was transferred to Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda for a fee believed to be in the region of €5 million.
A year later he moved to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on loan and ended up scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances in the MLS before returning to Tianjin Teda.
According to reports coming from Portugal, Montero is unhappy with life in China and is looking for a way out.
Sporting Portugal are said to be keen on a reunion with former player and talks have already started over a January move back to Portugal.
Fredy Montero spent three years at the Estadio Jose Alvelade, having initially arrived in Portugal on loan from Seattle Sounders.
