West Ham United has added Mexican striker Guille Franco to the squad. The 32-year-old forward was a free agent because his contract with Villarreal expired this summer.

“Playing in the Premier League is like a dream that comes true,” Franco said on West Ham United`s official website.

“I also had the opportunity to join Estudiantes or another Spanish club but the chance to play in the Premier League made me decide to choose West Ham,” the Mexican international added.

“This is a very important period for me, considering the World Cup is held next year. Therefore I hope to make many goals this year,” concluded Franco.

The Hammers were on the verge of signing Manchester City`s Benjani but they failed to sign the Zimbabwean striker in the final stage of the negotiations. After that failure they decided to go for Franco.
