After putting five goals past relegation-threatened Fulham with no reply, Manchester City now find themselves six points adrift of 1st-placed Chelsea, but with three games in hand on the Londoners.

Victory in all three would put them top by three points with seven games remaining. Tough games are to come for the Citizens – with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool three of their next four opponents – but Pellegrini’s men are in fine league form of late.

City have won three of their last four games, conceding 0 goals, and scoring eight. As a result of their fine form, the Sky Blues are being backed with odds of 7/5 by Bet 365 to win what would be their second title in three seasons.

Last campaign under manager Roberto Mancini, City fell way short in the league. But under Pellegrini, the Chilean boss has had his side firing on all cyclinders for the majority of the league season, and now they find the title in their hands.

With three big games to come, it will be a difficult task to get maximum points, but should they achieve it they’ll be in pole position to top the table come May.
