Freiburg reveal Papiss Cisse likely to leave next summer

Freiburg sporting director Dirk Dufner admits that star players Papiss Demba Cisse is looking to join a bigger club.

The Senegal international has been one of the most prolific Bundeslga strikers over the last two seasons, scoring 29 goals in 43 league games during that period.

He has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Sunderland and Newcastle, and everything suggests that he will be sold next summer.

“For us he is a key player, but his desire is to play for a big club,” Freiburg sporting director Dirk Dufner told Kicker.

However, Dufner says that Cisse is unlikely to leave before the end of the season.

“For us the important thing is that he ends the season here.”
