Freiburg seal Mehmedi deal

Admir Mehmedi has completed his move to Bundesliga side Freiburg from Dynamo Kiev.

The striker initially makes a temporary switch from the Ukranian side, but Freiburg have the option to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent deal.

Mehmedi started his career at FC Zurich where his performances earned him international recognition with Switzerland, before he made the switch to the Ukraine in January 2012.

Freiburg’s acting sporting director Klemens Hartenbach welcomed the striker to the club and said the player has been on their radar for some time.

“We’ve been in touch with Admir Mehmedi for many years,” Hartenbach said.

“We’re delighted the transfer went through. He’s a very versatile attacking player who understands the game.

“He’s already proven that he can play at the highest level.”
