RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano admits he is flattered by the reported interest from Barcelona.
The 18-year-old is believed to be a top target for the Catalan giants as they plan to rejuvenate their back line in the near future.
Having joined from Red Bull Salzburg back in January, the centre-back has already impressed playing in German Bundesliga, amassing 18 league appearances.
His excellent showings clearly did not go unnoticed, but while Upamecano is honoured to be linked with Barcelona, he is fully focused on RB Leipzig for the time being.
“I am honoured by that (Barcelona interest), of course. But, at the moment, only RB Leipzig counts,” the Frenchman told Sport Bild.
Upamecano is good friends with Barcelona’s summer recruit Ousmane Dembele and the youngster probably wouldn’t mind following in his pal’s footsteps.
