Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho has been one of the most talked-about footballers over the past couple of transfer windows.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder was close to moving to the Premier League this summer with West Ham getting agonizingly close to grabbing the Portugal star.
The Hammers failed to agree a fee with Sporting CP who have since then approached Carvalho over a new deal with the Portuguese giants.
Carvalho’s contract is running until 2020 and Sporting CP are not under immediate urgency to sell their prized asset.
They are however aware that his impressive performances are gaining plenty of attention from Europe’s best and according to the reports coming from the Portuguese daily Ojogo, Carvalho is currently wanted by the French duo – AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
Reigning Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco are looking for reinforcements at the centre of the park after selling Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea last summer, whereas their fierce rivals PSG are said to be eyeing Carvalho as an upgrade to Adrien Rabiot.
Former FC Porto boss and current PSG sporting director Antero Henrique could play a crucial role in persuading Carvalho to join the Parc des Princes outfit and is already said to have opened negotiations with his club.
PSG are reportedly ready to offer both Motta and Rabiot in exchange for William Carvalho.
