French wonderkid set for Arsenal trial; Ajax star requests Newcastle move

French wonderkid set for Arsenal trial

Caen striker M’Baye Niang is set to join Arsenal on trial, French newspaper L’Equipe has revealed.

The 17-year-old forward is touted as one of the hottest prospects in world football and he has already seen his name linked with Arsenal, Newcastle and Stoke.

L’Equipe now reveals that the Gunners are set to take the player on trial, with a view of making the transfer permanent this summer.

The player is looking to leave Caen after the club were relegated from French Ligue 1 last season.

The highly rated youngster was handed a senior debut near the end of the 2010/2011 season and he managed to score no less than 3 goals in his first 7 league games for the club.

Niang was much less prolific last term, having bagged just two goals in 23 Ligue 1 appearances.

The talented forward could be in for a great football career, but he would be better off staying at Caen for few more years and playing regular football than warming the bench at a top European club.

Ajax star requests Newcastle move

Ajax defender Vurnon Anita has requested a meeting with boss Frank de Boer in order to discuss his future, Voetbal International reports.

The 23-year-old has finished his third season as a first team regular at Amsterdam ArenA and he is now looking to leave Ajax for a bigger club.

Newcastle United have been showing interest in the versatile defender, and Voetbal International claims the player would love to make a summer switch to St James Park.

The Magpies had a bid for the Dutch international rejected in June, but they have no intention on giving up on their target.

Anita has, therefore, requested a meeting with Ajax boss Frank de Boer as he wants to know the club’s stance on the proposed move to the Premier League.

Vurnon Anita began his career at Ajax as a central midfielder, but he was later transformed into a left-back.

The player is now capable of covering a number of positions across defence and midfield, and this versatility is one of his greatest assets.

Pazzini talks up Inter exit

Italian striker Giampaolo Pazzini has confirmed reports linking him with a summer exit from Giuseppe Meazza.

The 27-year-old joined the Neroazzurri in January 2011 from Sampdoria for a fee of €19 million, but he has failed to live up to the expectations at Inter.

The forward scored just 16 goals in 50 Serie A appearances, and has now explained that he plans to leave the club this summer.

“I think that the club have made their decisions and I believe that I am not part of the project,” Pazzini told reporters at the training camp in Pinzolo.

“I’ll look to work hard in an attempt to change their minds, but I have always been honest and I am being so now too.”

Inter have signed Rodrigo Palacio from Genoa and the Argentine is expected to form the attacking partnership with Diego Milito.

After acting as a back-up striker last season, it is hardly surprising that Pazzini wants to see more playing time this term, and this is an excellent opportunity for one of the top table sides to sign a proven goal scorer at a cut-back price.
