Frenkie de Jong wants Barcelona stay

Despite the recent rumours and alleged lucrative offers from elsewhere, Frenkie de Jong is determined to remain at Barcelona for years to come and be a part of the project unfolding at the Camp Nou, according to Sport.

Barcelona have been under much pressure lately, mostly due to a dire financial situation which, among other things, prevented them from keeping Lionel Messi at the club last summer. They’ve been trying to sort their problems out with smart signings, several on free transfers, as well as to recoup some of the money invested through player sales.

Reports have suggested that De Jong might be one of the players set to leave at the end of the season, with Liverpool and Bayern Munich mentioned as potential destinations, but the Dutch midfielder has no mind to raise his anchors and sail away just yet. His ears are therefore closed to offers this summer.
