Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has revealed he expects to be back in full training by the end of September.
The 20-year-old has been out of action since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February during a season-long loan spell at Wolves.
However, the Ghana-born battler has provided a boost to Arsene Wenger’s options in midfield with the news he is set to return to training imminently.
Frimpong, who has made six appearances for Arsenal, tweeted: “I will be back in full training with the squad on 17th of this month. Two cruciate knee injuries couldn’t end my career. It’s been a long 7 months.”
The Londoners are yet to concede a goal so far this season and have picked up five points from their opening three Premier League fixtures.
New signings Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla were both on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win over Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, with promoted Southampton next to visit the Emirates.
