Fulham 1/1 to beat Bournemouth in Friday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Fulham win

Odds: 1/1 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves leading the chase at the top of the Championship table, Fulham will welcome Bournemouth to Craven Cottage on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, having to settle for back-to-back stalemates against Preston and Derby over the past week, there is no doubt that Fulham will be seeking a real boost here. Gaining a host of plaudits since bringing in Marco Silva earlier in the year, many have tipped the Cottagers as the standout pick to book an immediate Premier League return. Opening up Friday’s contest holding a one-point buffer at the top of the table, the former Everton boss has also seen his side continue to shine at Craven Cottage. Picking up 16 points from their last six Championship games on home soil, they also have one attacking MVP enjoying a stellar free-scoring run. Sending Serbia to next year’s World Cup finals last month, Aleksandar Mitrović has also racked up a staggering 21 second-tier goals since opening the 2021/22 campaign.

As for the visitors, while Bournemouth might have also found an immediate boost after bringing in former Fulham boss Scott Parker over the summer, the Cherries find themselves in the midst of a recent sluggish patch. Last seen playing out a 2-2 draw against Coventry on home soil, the south coast outfit have failed to pick up a single Championship victory since returning from November’s international break. With that run highlighted by a shock 3-2 defeat against Derby on the road, Bournemouth have also managed to win just one of their previous six contests. Showing some recent issues at the back, it’s also worth highlighting that Friday’s guests have picked up just a single point from their back-to-back contests away from the Vitality. With Fulham landing a 1-0 win when the two sides last faced off back in 2019, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
