Fulham 29/20 to beat Aston Villa in Saturdays Championship playoff final

Competition: Championship playoff final

Market: Fulham win

Odds: 29/20 @ Bet365

A place in the Premier League is at stake as Fulham and Aston Villa face off in the Championship Play-Off Final on Saturday.

For Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham side, although their heartbreaking loss away at Birmingham on the final game of the season may have ended their 23 match unbeaten run and also ended their automatic promotion hopes, Fulham only finished two points adrift of Cardiff and will travel across London as the favorites come Saturday evening. Despite losing their semi-final first leg 1-0 away to Derby County, The Cottagers, led by 18-year-old sensation and Championship Player of the Year Ryan Sessegnon, secured a well earned 2-0 win and were able to book their spot in the final. Along with Sessegnon, one player to watch will be on-loan forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, since swapping St. James’ Park for Craven Cottage, the Serbian international has scored 14 goals since January.

As for Aston Villa, The Villans’ finished five points behind Fulham in the table, but fans will be confident that Steve Bruce has the know-how at this level to guide The Clarets back to the Premier League. After a single goal helped them come past Middlesbrough in the semi-final’s, although Villa have now only picked up one win in their last four matches in all competitions, Bruce’s side will be looking for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone to carry on his impressive personal season. The on-loan Manchester United stopper has arguably been the Championship’s best keeper this term, producing 20 clean sheets from 45 appearances, Johnstone vs Mitrovic could prove to be the pivotal battle on Saturday.
