Fulham 5/6 to beat Charlton in Wednesday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Fulham win

Odds: 5/6 @ Bet 365

With West Brom and Leeds tripping up, Fulham have a golden opportunity to keep up their recent momentum when they make the trip across London on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Charlton’s start to their Championship return may have shocked many in the second-tier, Lee Bowyer’s side have since come crashing back down to earth and are in the midst of a real crisis. Hit with a 2-1 defeat away at Preston over the weekend, fans around the Valley have seen their side lose four of their last five appearances and have just a single victory to their name since the 19th of October, a remarkable 17-match run. Freefalling down the standings and still showing some glaring issues at the back, the Reds have also landed just one win on home soil over the past three months.

As for the visitors, while the mood around the Valley might be at a continued low, Fulham are enjoying quite the purple patch. While they might be without leading marksman Aleksandar Mitrović, Scott Parker’s men once again impressed in their 1-0 win over a resurging Middlesbrough last time out. Knowing that three points in midweek would see them move within touching distance of the top-two, the Cottagers find themselves enjoying a three-match winning run. Still boosted after booking their spot in the fourth round of this year’s FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Premier League outfit Aston Villa, Fulham should be confident of extending their winning run in midweek.
