Competition: Premier League
Market: Fulham to stay up
Odds: 9/4 @ William Hill
After their 1-0 victory against Newcastle, relegation-threatened Fulham have greatly boosted their survival chances. Defeat to the Toon Army would have seen them seven points from safety with eight games to go. All but down many would feel.
But Fulham manager Felix Magath said after the win yesterday that he believes his side can still achieve the improbable with only eight games still to play. As things stand the Cottagers are still rock bottom of the league, but now only four points adrift.
Yesterday’s three points has seen them take a big step out of trouble, as another win in their next game could potentially close to gap to just one point. As a result, William Hill are backing the London side with odds of 9/4 to stay up this season in the top flight.
After achieving their first clean sheet since December, there is renewed hope in London that Fulham could mount a nearly impossible fight against relegation – with Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham sides they will be coming up against soon.
They’ve looked down and out for weeks, but can Fulham really stay up this season now?
