Fulham are close to reaching a full agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers over a proposed transfer of Raul Jimenez, according to multiple sources.
The Cottagers made a strong effort to keep hold of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is reportedly of strong interest from Al-Hilal. The Saudi side are said to have made an offer to Fulham boss Marco Silva, but the Portuguese coach rejected their advances.
On the other hand, Mitrovic remains keen to make the move to Saudi Arabia, and his wish, coupled with Fulham’s determination not to allow him to leave, has caused a lot of friction between the London club and their striker. And with Mitrovic’s future up in the air, they’ve obviously decided to sign a high-quality replacement, before setting their price for the Serbia international.
Jimenez, who scored 57 goals and provided 24 assists in 166 games for Wolves, has already accepted an offer of personal terms from Fulham, and the deal for the 32-year-old Mexico international is set to be completed soon for a fee of £5.5 million.
