(GSM) – Fulham’s defender Aaron Hughes wants his team to forget the defeat at Hull and focus on Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final clash with Wolfsburg.
The Northern Ireland international defender was replaced by Chris Smalling for the 2-0 reverse at the KC Stadium on Saturday, but hopes to be back for the first leg encounter at Craven Cottage this week. And, while Hughes acknowledged that it was disappointing to lose to the struggling Tigers, they must now get their minds focused on the German Wolves.
He told, “Obviously we were disappointed to have lost the game against Hull. But what is done is done; we have to move on, as we have done this season.”
Hughes continued, “You have to move on quickly whether you win or lose, because there is always another game around the corner.”
“Hopefully I’ll be back on Thursday night. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed, and of course, I don’t want to be left out,” defender added
“That said, I understand the manager’s reasons for making changes because we have played a lot of games this season. But this is a game that we all want to be involved in – it’s another massive night for the club,” he hoped to get positive result.
