Fulham’s Mawson heading for Championship

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Fulham defender Alfie Mawson looks set to complete his move to Bristol City in the next 24-48 hours.

Mawson is set to make the jump back down to the Championship on a season long loan deal, and while some consider it a risk for the Cottagers to make such a move so close to the new season, it doesn’t appear as if he was ever going to have a consistent role in the starting XI.

Bristol City, on the other hand, could well be on the verge of another push for promotion in what is bound to be one of the most competitive Championship campaigns in recent memory.

Fulham spent big when they last earned their promotion back to the Premier League and they paid the price for it, so this time around, they seem to be going about things a little bit differently.
